Eco Schools Excursion

Stuart, Jade and Josie on the Corran Ferry.

Everyone is enjoying making felt!

Lots of lovely paper weights!

Josie making a woven natural plant board!

What a GIGANTIC compost jigsaw!

Mrs Strachan, Josie, Jade and Stuart looking over the edge. Looks like a very long drop! We were waiting for the ferry.

On the 4th March Josie, Jade, Stuart, Mrs Strachan and Kirsty went to an eco schools activity day at Ardnamurchan High School.  We got there by car and ferry boat.  There was a whole range of activities there!  In the morning Jade did some jazz dancing, Stuart learnt about a year in the life of a red deer, and Josie did weaving, spinning and felt making.  Josie made a felt paperweight and did weaving with plants!
Then we went to the canteen for lunch.  There was pizza, chips, sandwiches, cakes, milkshakes and yoghurts to eat!!
Then we did some more fun activities!  Stuart did the Ben Nevis Challenge while Josie and Jade did the Cabbages and Worms composting game and Exploring Renewable Energy practically.  The composting game was a GIGANTIC jigsaw about what you should and shouldn't put in the compost bin.  We played about with things that use different kinds of energy - a water calculator, a rocket that ran on air, a wind-up torch and a wind measurer!
