Pirate flag making |
On the 18th of June we went to The Crossing at the canalside in Fort Augustus.
Greg told us some fantastic stories in a yurt. Some children made pirate flags, Primary 4, 5, 6 and 7 saved the rubber ducks and we watched a great magic show.
The Kelpie was a story about this man called Davie who was outside on a stormy day and the water was really choppy and the ferryman said,”No, I’m not going to take my boat out tonight”. So Davie saw this horse and it had big bulging eyes and he went closer and he was thinking there was something wrong with this horse. As he got closer he was more mysterious. He was just going to stroke him when he realised it was a kelpie. The kelpie swung his head up bringing Davie into the air. The ferryman said, “Davie it;s a kelpie leave it alone Get away!”. The kelpie dived below the water and Davie was drowned. If you see a black horse with a scar on his arm it might be Davie, but you never know! Retold by Fergus
Another story was about Jenny and she had this really really colourful dress and she didn’t want to buy anything because she only had two pounds so she sewed lots of materials together. One day she disappeared and she had gone for a walk and bumped into a rainbow and she climbed up the rainbow. She met a man and she asked him, “Where am I?” and he said, “The moon. You can buy some soap to put on your feet for two pounds so you can slide down the rainbow to Inverness”. So she bought the soap and slid down the rainbow to Inverness. She met her friend who asked her, “Where have you been?” I’ve been to the moon. your joking and she said I ll prove it and she pulled out this colourful stone. Retold by Callie
